Looking for an escape hatch?

From the Seattle P-I:

Thinking of moving to Canada if Kerry loses?
If, come Tuesday, John Kerry loses the presidential election, droves of dejected liberals may dream of crossing the border into Canada. Though it's only satire (read: not real), a new Web site may cheer them up.
It's www.marryanamerican.ca, which jokes that if President Bush is re-elected, Canadians can help "single, sexy American liberals -- already a threatened species."
How? By marrying an American and sacrificing their "singlehood to save our southern neighbors from four more years of cowboy conservatism." The site's motto is "No good American will be left behind!" It's produced by the people who put out This Magazine, an edgy alternative journal about Canadian politics, arts and pop culture.

We can't all be James & Mary

The NYT reports that election related emotions are so raw:

Last week an 18-year-old Marine recruit in West Palm Beach, Fla., was arrested for threatening to stab his girlfriend, partly, the authorities said, because she planned to vote for Senator John Kerry. "You'll never live to see the election," he reportedly told her before sheriff's deputies subdued him with a Taser gun.

Would Dr. Phil characterize this as a healthy relationship? I wonder.

A Pox on the "Undecideds"

They’re idiots. TOTAL IDIOTS. They’re voting on single issues or on who they’d like to have a beer with. The Bush presidency just reinforces the notion that anyone can be President, and, although their jobs are disappearing and their children are dying and they’re getting cancer from the local mega corp’s dump, they’re going to vote for the friendly guy who seems “like them” and not for the smartest kid in the class. Watch the West Wing marathon and feel better.
