The worst is not

So long as we can say, 'This is the worst.'

OK, it's not that bad. The Conservatives didn't win a majority, didn't win as many seats as they thought they would, and picked up seats in Quebec from the Bloc. The Liberals did extraordinarily well, considering the scandal and their lacklustre campaign, and are the official opposition by 50 seats. And the NDP picked up 11 seats, which is huge. It's not as though we're the only country in the hemisphere with a leader we're slightly embarrassed by. And who knows, maybe he'll do an OK job. If not, it won't take an impeachment to get rid of him.

  • Ow. My Head hurts. All I can say is, that's the best damn four hours plus of television I have watched in a long while. And to top it off, it was commercial-free.

The only low point was the George Strombo pub-party format, which was just a bunch of people sitting around staring at the cameras.

  • Wait a second....

Another low point was the Conservative minority, yet another the NDP retreating from 32 to 29 seats.

  • Wait, I thought that the NDP gained seats ... they did, they gained 10 seats!

  • Sorry, should have clarified. I was disappointed when the CBC live reporting showed the NDP rise as high as 32 seats, but then drop back to 29.
