I am proud to say I have never owned anything even vaguely resembling any of those shoes, except the sandals (which I wore as a small child, obviously...)

Oooh, I think wore Birkenstocks during their revival in grade school. Yuck. I solemnly swear never to do it again.

In grade school, my sisters both had several pairs of Birks. I refused --refused! (I did have the salt-waters, though, in elementary school.)

There was a time, during my camp counsellor phase, when there were tevas and birks, but those count as work shoes, right? Like clogs for chefs, right?
